This year marks the third visit to Whitewater, WI for the traveling Stiftungsfestivities. For those who have attended past years, the pre-game was far more enjoyable than the actual game itself. Wisconsinites pride themselves on gratuitous beer-drinking and grilled meat-eating so tailgating comes naturally to them. Games at UWW are no exception.
The fun starts at 8:00am for the 12:00 noon game time. Johnnie Red will be there with his famous burgers. Many others will be bringing meats and beverages, but as always it is wise to bring your own to contribute. Despite the relaxed Wisconsin attitudes toward the outdoor consumption of adult beverages, red cups rules remain in effect.
Go Johnnies!
Directions
From I-94, take State Rd 59 at Exit 163. There should be a sign along the freeway indicating the exit for the University. Follow 59 about 2 miles to County N. Turn left onto N and drive straight east about 11 miles into Whitewater. County N becomes Walworth Ave at US-12. Go just over a mile past US-12 to South Prince Street. Turn left and head north, crossing West Main Street and traveling next to campus to West Starin Road. Turn right onto Starin and then left onto Graham Ave to the Stadium.
Important Seating Announcement
UW-Whitewater will not have seating on the visitor’s sideline for the game on Saturday due to reconstruction of the existing bleachers. This is not a problem, as the stadium has plentiful seating on the home side (seats for roughly 10k). Go to the game preview page on the UWW web site and scroll down to the SJU logo to see diagrams of the seating situation.
