Keeping with the tradition of Bethel and St. Thomas, here is the information for this week’s away-from-Collegeville tailgate. Unlike the previous two, however, this will not be on campus. Please read the following invitation from Jeff Hanson of the Owatonna SJU Alumni Chapter for details.
Johnnie Football Tailgate
WHEN: Saturday October 25th
WHERE: Sechlar Park — Northfield
TIME: 10:30 to 1:00
WHO: All alum, spouses and kids
Come tailgate before the Johnnie Football Team takes on the St Olaf Oles. Game time is set for 1:00. St Olaf is a great place to watch a football game.
Directions to Sechlar Park
Coming East on Hwy 19 (Off I-35) take a right on Armstrong Road (just past the St Olaf campus). Travel this road for approximately ½ mile to Sechlar Park Road (on the left). This road will take you to the park pavilion.
Details
- The park has all the tailgating essentials: grills, tables, restrooms, etc.
- Please bring your own food and beverages (beer & pop in cans only)
- Spouses and future Johnnies & Bennies are encouraged to attend (it is never too early to expose the young ones to the Johnnie Football Powerhouse)
- The park has a great playground for the kids
- The park is located only 1½ mile from the stadium
- Bring along footballs, chairs, coolers and all other tailgating necessities
Last year, we had a great turnout at this event even with the rain. This year we are hoping for more. The newly formed Rochester Alumni Chapter will be joining us for the festivities. Hopefully, the Stiftungsfestivites can join us again too. We’ve got room for 100+ at the park.
