It was a lovely Saturday up there next to the Lake Wobegon Trail overlooking the beautiful Sagatagan. First, the weatherman surprised everyone by giving us both a cloudless and warm day after predicting a cool, rainy one; and second, our Jays beat a solid, talented UW-Eau Claire team 35-27 for our second straight victory over a WIAC team. This before a crowd of over 8,000 most very pleased souls.

SJU Unofficial Underground News: more reading than an English major — #2

Okay, so the inauguration of the Jays season last week at UW-River Falls left something to be desired; at least we got a “W” in the closing minutes 28-24, right? There are players, especially on defense like preseason All-American Nick Gunderson, who will tell you that we didn’t witness real Johnnie football and “wait until this week” when we play our first home game against another, higher-rated WIAC opponent — UW-Eau Claire.

SJU Unofficial Underground News emerges from its slumber — #1

It’s hard to believe (a) that SJU football begins this Saturday, and (b) that I’ve let this long go by without getting out the first of this year’s version of Unauthorized Unofficial Undergound News. Because I’m busy, info for the game is needed ASAP, and also because sloth has edged out avarice and lust as my most favored Deadly Sin, this will be necessarily short.
