Today John Gagliardi is 83 years young, with no signs of slowing down in the near future.
John has been the head coach of the St John’s University Johnnies since the 1953 season. Prior to taking the coaching vacancy at St. John’s there was a 4 year stint at Carroll College in Helena, Montana where John compiled a 24-6-1 record and winning 3 conference championships.
At the ripe old age of 16, John broke into coaching as the player -coach of the Trinidad Catholic High School team, in Trinidad, Colorado, as his coach was called into service during World War II. John continued to coach at Trinidad Catholic High School while obtaining his degree at Colorado College.
In 2006 John was inducted into The College Football Hall of Fame.
I’m sure all John would really like for his birthday is another MIAC Championship!

Happy Birthday John
