Our webmaster, the vaunted “Mr. Shoes”, says he’ll be knee-deep in “code” next week and the days leading up to East Texas in an effort to complete all the site upgrades planned during the off-season. Until then we’ll continue to publish Andy Pierskalla’s player blog “post-style”…enjoy!

Practice started later in the day due to church. I don’t think many were in attendance though as the extra rest was nice. It is also the first day we could put pads on, or the amount of pads we will put on. This means that we can start going against the offense. I can only report on the D-line and we looked solid and as Gary said, “We could play a game today if we needed to.”

More of the same in practice. The offense continues to get good looks from the defense and the defense keeps on track. Tonight at meetings we were given talks by numerous administrators about keeping up grades and the safe supplements to take. After film, my roommates and I watched the entire fifth season of Family Guy and called it a night.

Everyone is a little sore from yesterday but we keep pressing on. I got stepped on today by a running back and bled everywhere. I would have made a nice play, but of course, an O-lineman was holding. It was a big day at our residence as well, we figured out how to turn the AC on and we shampooed the carpet and the cable guy finally came so now this blog can be more regular. Tonight there is a BBQ for the team before film and tonight the roomies and I will finally get to watch the Olympics and see some of those gymnasts, the legal ones anyway.
