The Johnnie gods and Bennie goddesses along with the Johnny Bloods’, Austin Murphys’ and of course the immortal one himself – John Gagliardi, have aligned themselves in such a manner as to position the St. John’s University football team for a potential MIAC crown next Saturday in Northfield.
You say what? Who else but the [...]

In the event you decided to glue yourself to cable or network television this weekend indulging in college and professional football, you might have missed one of the most fabulous fall weekends of the season. At least in the southwest metropolitan area of Minneapolis, Saturday was particularly satisfying.

Saturday was another gorgeous day for college football in Minnesota and for those who made the trip to the picturesque St. Olaf campus your support for Johnnie Football was rewarded. Not only did the clear blue skies serve as the perfect background to the myriads of deciduous golds and bronze, the Cardinal Red displayed many of the October tricks which have made this season so very interesting and entertaining.

The knuckle bumping, hand holding, fanny slapping first year coach of St. Thomas was served his first dose of “Johnnie Magic”.

Today’s Monday morning report is going to be a bit abbreviated and slightly late following a weekend away from Collegeville closing up the family cabin. With no internet available and only snails pace dial-up service, the writer was forced to abate a moderate level of Johnnie anxiety via the “live stats” link on the GoJohnnies.com website.

Will John Gagliardi Build For The Future Or Play For Today?
If you’ve been paying any attention to the news, local or national, you’ve witnessed a vast array of developments including financial foreclosures, the race to the presidential “throne” and even local philanthropists succumbing to greed. Whether you’re suddenly concerned about discovering your on-line bank account [...]

As the Johnnie offense grabbed headlines for making it’s reappearance during the festive Johnnie homecoming this weekend, St. John’s middle linebacker Ryan Wimmer added another performance in what is “All American” in quality and potentially also in recognition.

Who would have thought as the lengthy winter months waned on with a few precious days in spring and an ample June, July and August, that after all that time Coach John Gagliardi would still be looking for his starting quarterback? The panorama of possibilities the Johnnies have considered the past 3 weeks has [...]

Michael Crees entered Saturday’s game as the SJU starter after beginning the season third in line behind junior Jordan Hansel and fan favorite Joe Boyle. Crees not only took advantage of last week’s opportunity to audition for the starting QB position but also grabbed last year’s starter Alex Kofoed’s jersey. Number eleven and his magical rise to the top of the quarterback competition is the kind of slight handed imagination required to leap over this season’s probable starters.

Will The Rats Ever Return to The Main Bleachers? Call me!
You can thank the CSB/SJU student cheer section for helping kill a 4th quarter comeback attempt by the ETBU Tigers Saturday in The Johnnies season opener. It looked as though SJU was serious about allowing the southerners from Marshall, TX to foil the extremely sunny [...]
