Thanks to Clark Stanton for the great photos. A great way for the seniors to go out.

The Last Picture Show
It’s Friday and my bags aren’t packed. There’s no need to check in online, to download a coupon for the off-site airport parking or to confirm reservations with Hertz or the St. Cloud Homewood Suites. I sit in my office wondering what on earth I am to do this weekend.
Johnnies Overpower Pipers 49-0
With a winter storm warning in effect at kickoff, and playing conditions rapidly deteriorating during the course of the game the Johnnies put on a display of offense firepower and a defense of stinginess that the Hamline Pipers were not all able to overcome; resulting in a 49-0 victory for SJU in the final game [...]
And a Mile
Flashback- 2009 Johnnie/Piper game (and I use that term very loosely b/c does Hamline really even field a Team) and a 4th down and long yardage situation for the Johnnies.
The Pipe P.A. Announcer (who apparently could not even get a gig announcing games at Gallaudet University) calmly states for all to hear “its 4th and [...]
Collegeville Chili Feed Finale
It’s become habitual over the past decade or so to engage in lengthy late season discussion and speculation foretelling the Johnnie Football fortune in the annual DIII playoff postseason. Anticipating The Johnnies’ final regional ranking and pursuiant playoff partner and how long the home playoff run would persist through the increasingly frozen fall were appreciated [...]
2010 Week 10: Hamline
The Johnnies end a disappointing season on Saturday with the Hamline Pipers coming to Collegeville. The perennial MIAC doormat is 0-7 in conference play with it’s lone win coming against the hapless Macalester Scots. The Pipers have lost their last 4 games by a combined total of 165 points. For all intents and purposes this [...]
First Half Fireworks Blast Johnnies Past Oles 42-17
The Johnnies provided an offensive fireworks display, putting up 510 yards, 329 yards through the air by Joe Boyle.
This was the Johnnies sixth 500+ yard offensive performance on the season. Meanwhile, the Johnnie defense shut down the St. Olaf running game allowing just 75 yards on the ground. In doing so,SjU held one of the [...]

Goodness Grief! It’s the Choir Boys
This week the Johnnie Nation makes the return trip to Northfield as the 2010 edition of the Johnnies battles the Oles. And while I count an Ole as one of my best friends I still feel warranted in giving him, and all that is St. Olaf, grief.
Grief over their Football Program (both the actual team [...]
Ole Roast
Week nine finds a Johnnie repeat trip to Northfield, this time to face the Ole’s. St. Olaf sports a smiliar record to SJU and has proven particulary pesky while defending their home turf. One of the few grass fields left in the MIAC and coincidently identical to last week’s opponent The Carleton Knights.
With that said [...]
