As the Johnnie offense grabbed headlines for making it’s reappearance during the festive Johnnie homecoming this weekend, St. John’s middle linebacker Ryan Wimmer added another performance in what is “All American” in quality and potentially also in recognition.
Hansel Leads Johnnies to 31-17 Homecoming Victory Over the Gusties
The revolving door that has been installed at the Johnnies QB position may have, at least temporarily, been disabled Saturday by a breakout performance put on by Jordan Hansel. Hansel completed 19 of 36 passes for 3 TDs, while throwing no interceptions.

Johnnie Gameday Predictions: Gustavus
Well, here we are: Homecoming. After a really rough last week, the Johnnies — and our prognosticators — look to rebound this week. Will the team come out firing like several of these predictions certainly will? Or will the hangover get the best of both? Let’s find out.
HAPPY HOMECOMING BIRTHDAY ERIN!
This Saturday is the 2008 edition of Homecoming for SJU and its unrivaled Nation! For many Johnnies this weekend’s events mark a reunion year and therefore an even greater reason to make the trip to our beloved Collegeville. It’s time to celebrate being a Johnnie and remember all of those great times you had while at SJU and the even greater people one met while at SJU.
Guns, Speed and Heart
It is much easier to accept a loss where both teams played a pounding, skilled game and you come away thinking one bad play here, or a great one there, or a bad call, perhaps made the difference. But last week’s demonstration of offensive dysfunction left me with a taste in my mouth that even Hamm’s won’t chase away. I wish there was a pill for this.
