The Augsburg Auggies took a gigantic leap forward on the football field in 2007, finishing the season 5-5 after winning a total of 4 games the previous 3 seasons. But the proverbial rising tide didn’t lift all boats for the Auggies—they lost their 10th straight matchup with the St. John’s Johnnies by an embarrassing 62-7 margin.

Well fans, after last week’s bye, there are only two games left and the MIAC is as tight a race as it’s ever been. Simply put, the Johnnies need to win both and let everything else take care of itself. That’s it: just Augsburg this week and Carleton next — but most importantly, Augsburg this week.

Augsburg tailgate information, rules, and general fun stuff

We will be having the Stiftungsfestivities tailgate party this Saturday when Auggie Tech comes to Collegeville. Auggie fans, you are more than welcome to join us. We are located in the parking lot just above the scoreboard end of the field. We usually get going around 10:00 a.m., though a few of us are there much earlier.

The Manic MIAC

And the craziness continues in the MIAC for another weekend.

You have to go back to 1990 to find the last time the MIAC champion had two conference losses. That year, Concordia and St. Thomas shared the conference crown with 6-2 records—and St. Thomas hasn’t been there since.
