It has been an amazing couple of weeks for all who are connected to Johnnie Football. Still we are not done. Russ Gliadon wanted the moustache slide show but pictures were not taken. Hopefully we can get that going for next week. Everyone is excited to be going into this game and practice yesterday had a nice tempo to it, even though we were inside.

Phil (far [...]

To predict the Johnnies’ chances for the playoffs, this week’s installment is the easiest I have had to date: Just win, baby.

Just as we did for the trip to Northfield two weeks ago, here is the information for the away-from-Collegeville tailgate. Unlike the ‘Festivities for St. Olaf, however, this week’s celebration will take the chilly weather into account and be indoors. Please read on for details, lest you miss out on a chance to party before the biggest game of the year.

You say what? Who else but the [...]

If I would have asked the typical Johnnie fan on October 4, after a heartbreaking loss at the hands of the Bethel Royals, if the Johnnies would be playing their final MIAC game of the season on November 15 to determine the conference championship I would have received an answer something to the effect of [...]

Well fans, after last week’s bye, there are only two games left and the MIAC is as tight a race as it’s ever been. Simply put, the Johnnies need to win both and let everything else take care of itself. That’s it: just Augsburg this week and Carleton next — but most importantly, Augsburg this week.

A couple of years ago this is how my Daughter Erin became a big fan of # 80, the Johnnie starting tight-end Brett Saladin. As her fall Saturday schedule prevents her from making it to Collegeville, her Johnnie Game day experiences are via the radio feed. And it always seemed that when a big [...]

As he worked the crowd following his acceptance speech at the induction ceremonies for the Hall of Fame For Coaches Whose Last Name Ends In a Vowel, Coach Gags was approached by a man who had worked his way through the throng of well-wishers. The man, later identified as Joe the Football Player, made his [...]
