What a glorious day in Collegeville.
Thanks to all the Cobber supporters who participated in the Stiftungsfestivities. The corn on the cob was a great addition to the usual culinary delights.

Johnnie Gameday Predictions: Concordia
Now that the cupcakes—Marietta, UW-River Falls, and Augsburg—have been devoured, the Johnnies get their first taste of the main course as the Concordia Cobbers invade Collegeville. It’s time to answer the annual question—just how good are these Johnnies? Judging by early season dismantlings of Marietta and Augsburg, this looks like a Johnnie team [...]
The View from Concordia
With fall sports just kicking off, and a full school year to follow, Concordia Sports Information Director Jim Cella’s schedule is busy and getting busier. Still, in what can only be a testament to the increasingly competitive nature of the St. John’s/Concordia football rivalry, he set aside some time to share his thoughts on this [...]
Top Ten Postgame Watering Holes of the MIAC
Where to grab a bevvie.
Patrick’s (St. Peter): This place has the trifecta. Great food, great beverages, and plenty of room. This is a phenomenal joint to watch more games on a Saturday afternoon/evening or just unwind after the big game.
Mick’s Office (Moorhead): Mick’s is steeped in tradition over generations of Cobbers. Stop in for a tasty [...]
Ex-Cobb says Concordia football has something to prove
Gary Haugo, ex-Cobber
After the Cobbers poor showing in 2006, they have something to prove in 2007. The Cobbers are off to a 2-1 start after defeating their arch-rival MSUM 34-32 in a thriller at the Jake and also defeating Dickinson State 41-7 at Dickinson. The only loss for the Cobbers coming at the hands of [...]

NO CIRCUS ANIMALS!
Dressed in black shirts, the SJU Alumni Association Subcommittee for Protection of Circus Animals, paid a visit to last Saturday’s Stiftungsfestivities, confiscating all of Johnnie Red’s red meat. Based upon an anonymous tip (probably from a Tommie), the meat was rumored to contain the meat of circus animals.
Johnnie/Cobber Preview: Another Thriller?
QB Jesse Nelson is sacked by Jamie Steffensmeier in 2006
Last weekend, the Concordia Cobbers lost a marathon heartbreaker to the Bethel Royals in triple overtime by a margin of 48-45. This Saturday, the task doesn’t get any easier for the Cobbers as they travel to Collegeville to take on our Johnnies. The last [...]
Inside the Numbers: Augsburg Recap
I’d imagine the St. John’s starters knew they wouldn’t be seeing much playing time in the second half against the Augsburg Auggies. Luckily, they made the most of the time they had. Between the opening kickoff and the halftime whistle, the Johnnies turned 8 drives into 7 touchdowns by 6 different players. [...]
Touchdown T’s Post-Corner
Good evening Johnnie fans. After a thoroughly dominating win last week against Augsburg, the Cobbers from Concordia-Moorhead come to Collegeville. They always seem to play the Johnnies tough dating back to the Jim Christopherson era. While the Cobbers only have one win against the Johnnies since 2000, their schemes clearly give the J’s problems. Or [...]
